Cassava products can be used for industrial manufacturing, table food and, Pasalubong (in the case of processed foods like cakes and delicacies with appropriate packaging). Raw material for said Cassava Products are cassava tubers harvested from cassava plantation.


Product Lines
Dried Cassava Chips or granules used as ingredients to Animal feeds, Alcohol, Paper, Glue, Plywood, drugs and food ingredients like food seasonings.

Processed Foods like cakes, pastries, native delicacies, etc.

Product History
The Cassava production in Sta. Marcela started with the prodding of Eduardo Danding Cojuangco thru his friend and ally, Governor Elias K. Bulut and his son Congressman Elias C. Bulut Jr. It started with various researches and farm demonstrations conducted by the Provincial Government and Sta. Marcela LGU. After research and tests conducted, cassava is best suited in the place particularly within its vast grasslands (formerly cornland) abandoned by farmers during the peak of insurgency problems.

A MOA between the LGU, SMC and Saranay Farmers Cooperative as the conduit coop., to represent the farmers was forged for technical cooperation in the development of plantations to reach about 2,000 hectares in 3 years time. Likewise, SMC to buy cassava products of the municipality in Dried chips, granules or powder form with corresponding prices based on prevailing prices.

To date, the town is busy in massive land development for its plantation expansion and started shipping their cassava harvest to SMC a year ago
